About Steve de Brun

I have been been painting, drawing, sculpting and designing since before I can remember. Born in Puerto Rico, I spent my early years in Hawaii and the rest of my childhood in Connecticut. The tropical richness of the landscapes in Puerto Rico and Hawaii have influenced my love of the beach and the lushness of the natural world.
I received a B.A. from Brown University and studied art at the Rhode Island School of Design. I've lived in California, Australia and Canada, and have traveled extensively throughout Mexico, Central and South America, Africa, Spain, and parts of Southeast Asia.
The process of making art is a fundamental part of who I am. I long for the deep sense of flow and meditative involvement that I experience when I am painting and drawing. I'm really stoked to be able to share my work with you, and hope that this sense of satisfaction comes through in my painting.

When I'm not making art, I like to spend time with my wife and twins. I also love to surf, mountain bike, hike and camp.
